National Association of Dental Plans

AIDS Action

AIDS Action is a national organization dedicated to the development, analysis, cultivation, and encouragement of sound policies and programs in response to the HIV epidemic. American Cancer Society

American Heart Association

The American Heart Association is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Their web site contains information on children and physical activity.

American Lung Association

The American Lung Association is the oldest voluntary health organization in the United States, with a National Office and constituent and affiliate associations around the country. Founded in 1904 to fight tuberculosis, the American Lung Association today fights lung disease in all its forms, with special emphasis on asthma, tobacco control and environmental health. The American Lung Association is funded by contributions from the public, along with gifts and grants from corporations, foundations and government agencies.

American Occupational Therapy Association

The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) is the nationally recognized professional association of approximately 35,000 occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and students of occupational therapy. Practitioners work with people experiencing health problems such as stroke, spinal cord injuries, cancer, congenital conditions, developmental problems, and mental illness. Center for Diseases Control and Prevention

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is one of the 13 major operating components of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), which is the principal agency in the United States government for protecting the health and safety of all Americans and for providing essential human services, especially for those people who are least able to help themselves.  Offers health related consumer information from the Federal Government.

Combined Health Information Database

Combined Health Information Database (CHID) is a bibliographic database produced by health-related agencies of the Federal Government. This database provides titles, abstracts, and availability information for health information and health education resources.  CHID lists a wealth of health promotion and education materials and program descriptions that are not indexed elsewhere. New records are added quarterly and current listings are checked regularly to help ensure that entries are up to date and still available from their original sources. Some older records are retained for archival purposes.

This Web site is operated by the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), a national medical organizations representing more than 93,700 family physicians, family practice residents and medical students. All of the information on this site has been written and reviewed by physicians and patient education professionals at the AAFP.

Multiple Sclerosis Society

Parkinson's Disease Foundation

The Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) is a national not-for-profit organization, a leading presence in the field of Parkinson's disease research, education, and public information. Artists' Health Insurance Resource Center

The Artists’ Health Insurance Resource Center (AHIRC) database was created in 1998 by The Actors’ Fund of America, with a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, as a health insurance resource for artists and people in the entertainment industry. Since then, with support from The Commonwealth Fund, it has expanded to include resources for the self-employed, low-income workers, the under-insured, the uninsured who require medical care and many other groups. Center for Health Care Rights

The Center for Health Care Rights is a non-profit health care consumer advocacy organization serving consumers through a combination of direct service programs and policy level advocacy. The Center provides direct services to Medicare enrollees in Los Angeles County.

Center for Medicare Advocacy

Center for Medicare Advocacy is a private, non-profit organization that provides education, advocacy, and legal assistance to help elders and people with disabilities obtain necessary healthcare. The Center for Medicare Advocacy focuses on the needs of Medicare beneficiaries, people with chronic conditions, and those in need of long-term care.

Center for Medicare and Medicaid Rights

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services provides eligibility information and application guidelines by state. Medicaid is a program that pays for medical assistance for certain individuals and families with low incomes and resources. Medicaid is the largest source of funding for medical and health-related services for people with limited income.

Citizens Health

National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism

Salvation Army
